Bubble Mill operates at the intersection of art, science, engineering, and design, developing aesthetic positions on relevant social issues, in particular the relationship between humans and nature.
Bubble Mill's core team consists of sound artist Johan August, computer-assisted industrial designer Peter D. Eher-Andersen and cultural producer Johannes Schwaninger, enriched with the expertise of ad hoc team members for individual projects.
"...und wenn der stillste Tag draußen ist"... is a first of a series of projects to explore the peculiar relationship humans have with their environment, blending acustic data and algorithmic processing into a fluid, multichannel sound installation around the industrialization of the alpine regions. With our new procect "URBAN CRAWLER" (w.t.), we will blend concepts such as biodiversity, interference and extinction into an interactive landscape installation.
